Manifesto of Possibilities - London launch

Over the past year, Birkbeck, University of London and the London Centre for Arts and Cultural Enterprise (LCACE) have been running a series of seminars and action workshops to develop this discussion document in response to the uncertainties of commissioning art in areas of urban change. You are invited to engage in active dialogue with commissioners, artists, architects and developers using the Manifesto as a starting point.

Read the Manifesto and join the discussion here

Using the Manifesto as a guide, workshop participants will:
- uncover the conflicting aspects of the commissioning process
- identify key factors for engaging artists on design teams
- share effective means of evaluation
- explore alternative ways of working with the community
- examine the role of the curator in developing public art projects
- challenge the trend of compromised art in the public realm.

If you cannot attend the event but would like to receive copies of the Manifesto, please email: Isabel.lamacraft@admin.bbk.ac.uk with your address details and the number of copies you would like or order on line at the Birkbeck website

Cost: 35 per participant including drinks, light refreshments and extra copies of the Manifesto of Possibilities.
Concessions: 25 for Artists and self-employed and 15 for Students and un-employed
