Sam Hasler + Sam Aldridge will be facilitating a series of three events in Chapter’s current manifestation of the Garage; ‘Le Salon’. They will be relaxed investigations into the relationship between Art and Writing, discussing the applications of text in a contemporary art practice.

An informal evening with invited speakers presenting works that explore boundaries between Fine Art, Creative Writing, and Critical Theory; snapshots that show the depth and variety of text-based art.

Unpick the Picture (Seminar/ Workshop)
Wed 17 Jun 2009 – 4.30-8.30pm

This forum will be investigative, opening up discussion about the documentation of art using text. It will look at text-based documentation as a process of creative investigation, research and art-making. The afternoon will try to lead towards creating a base for activity where by documentation of space within the discussions/venue/locality can occur.

Depict the Picture

The final event collates the week’s activities in the form of a public presentation. Documentation/ records / research / artworks.
