=Dissecting, directing and distilling contemporary artists’ attitudes to money=

Lancaster’s VAULT Gallery is proud to present its December exhibition entitled ‘Liquidizer’ at its Church Street Space from 5th until 20th December 2008. As half selective, half open show; the exhibition presents over a dozen artists’ responses to the theme of money through painting, sculpture, video, photography, text and magazine; on issues from global economic policy to pocket change.

Event Co-organiser, Ben Hill commented:
“The arts have always had a very particular relationship with economics, and this show gives artists a chance to comment on that, and on the wider instabilities that are currently affecting everyone.” Many of the works will be on sale for £20 to raise money for the VAULT’s continuing artistic programme and artists and curators will be on hand at the preview to answer questions about the work. Light refreshments will also be available.

VAULT Gallery is an artist-led exhibition space designed for emerging contemporary artists working in any medium. Supporting emerging contemporary artists by providing accessible and affordable exhibition space, the VAULT is run entirely by volunteers and admission is free to the general public.

The gallery (a disused bank vault) offers a unique space for new ideas and approaches, whilst maintaining accessibility for the viewing public. The VAULT schedule affords a new show each calendar month, with a preview the first Thursday of every month.
