Whistable Biennale 08 call for submissions

The Whitstable Biennale is a festival of contemporary visual art which takes place in the seaside town of Whitstable, UK. The Biennale has a focus on artists' film & video and performance and is rapidly gaining international renown as a showcase for new work by some of the UK's most exciting artists.

The Biennale is inviting applications for a new work to be part of the Whitstable Biennale 08, 21 June - 6 July 2008. They are looking for a work that has a presence in Whitstable over the two weeks of the Festival, and has some element of performance (live or otherwise).

Selectors are Whitstable Biennale Director Sue Jones, Bob and Roberta Smith and Charlotte Cullinan (Cullinan + Richards).

The Whitstable Biennale 08 will include new works by Jananne Al-Ani, Clio Barnard, Nick Crowe, Ryan Gander and Serena Korda. There will be extensive performance programmes at the weekends, film & video screening programmes and a lively satellite programme.

Please send your idea by post to the address below or email info@whitstablebiennale.com. Send one sheet of A4 plus a cv and any relevant visual material (enclose an SAE if you would like anything returned).

Selections will be made during the week of 7 April, and selectors may wish to talk through ideas with shortlisted applicants, so please include a phone number with your contact details.
