OSOP Commissions for Greyfriars Bus Station

OSOP commissions contemporary art in non-gallery spaces in and around Northampton. We welcome submissions by emerging artists in a range of media and practices. In June 2008 there will be up to five commissions for new artwork to be situated in or near Greyfriars Bus Station (following last year's successful project in this venue). The Bus Station has become a site of controversy: locally, regionally and nationally, after it was nominated as the second worst eyesore in Britain on Channel 4. Nevertheless it also has its supporters, including passengers and architects. More details can be found on the BBC News website.

As part of the commission selected artists must be available to install the work on site as well as attend at least two/three events where they will have the opportunity to discuss their work with the general public.

Commission: Up to five commissions of 1000 (plus 200 towards material costs) dependent on number of artists selected.

To apply, send:

-CD containing six images of current work as jpegs (for PC)
-CV - no more than 1 page of A4
-Outline proposal - 1 page of A4 to include indication of how work might relate to setting/venue and 1 page of related drawings.
