Artside 2011
Call for Submissions
Following its debut last year, ARTSIDE returns to the Southend on Sea High Street in July. It will include works exhibited in the local shops and businesses, as well as lots of extra events and workshops.
We are looking for artists that would be interested in working with local venues to create site-specific work which will be exhibited there during ARTSIDE 1-16 July. Any media will be considered - including sound and performance.
The title PAUSE reflects the nature of the works which will show familiar places in new light. Artists will be working with the venues and spaces creating site-specific work for each site, either related to the type of business, to the individual stories of people working there or responding to the space itself.
