Emerging Critic Opportunity

Axis is looking for an emerging critic (of any age!) to blog from Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art (Fri 16 Apr – Mon 3 May 2010) as part of the ‘Festivals and Politics’ issue of the Dialogue webzine.

You do not have to be published previously but we are looking for a high standard of writing or, alternatively, you may wish to blog with audio or video content. We want the critic to take a personal view on the festival, elucidating your experience of Glasgow International, and creating a considered journey through the festival.

There is a fee of £400 for this opportunity, but there are no additional expenses such as travel or accommodation. You would be expected to attend at least two days of festival, but these need not be consecutive. The content will need to be produced and made live during the festival, so there will be a short turn-around time.

We are looking for someone that has a strong knowledge of contemporary art, and can discuss art in a critical, accessible and engaging way. You need to be in Glasgow during the festival (but not necessarily for the whole time). An existing online presence would be an advantage but is not essential.

To apply for this opportunity please send a letter stating why you would be a good blogger for Axis at Glasgow International, along with a CV, by email to
