UCL Environment Institute - Artist in Residence

The UCL Environment Institute in conjunction with TippingPoint and the UCL Slade School of Art is seeking to appoint an artist-in-residence for the 2008-09 academic year.

With this post, the UCL Environment Institute is hoping to enhance further its aim of connecting the arts community and environmental professionals in order to explore and promote the relationship between the arts, science, technology, business and the environment, as a means of enhancing understanding and fostering collective action.

The artist will be required to conduct a programme of work for academic staff and researchers linking art with environmental issues on climate change. The specific content and structure of this programme will be a basis of selection at the interview stage. We anticipate that it might include a combination of various types of activities and styles of art.

The award is for 2 days per week for 9 months (October June) and it is 8,000 plus up to 1,000 for expenses. The Environment Institute will provide office space as required during this period.

Applications are to be made by letter addressed to:
Ms Marianne Knight,
UCLEI, Pearson Building,
Gower Street, London, WC1E 6BT
or by email: Marianne.knight@ucl.ac.uk.

Letters of application should include the following:
A brief CV, details of recent work where it may be relevant to this project and an outline of the proposed programme of work.

The closing date for applications is 5pm, Tue 3 Jun 2008 and interviews will be held on Thu 19 Jun 2008.
